Terms of Service

Last updated: July 4, 2026

Welcome to Verbara. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Verbara website, platform, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not create an account or use Verbara.

Verbara is currently operated by Hani, an independent operator. As Verbara develops, these Terms may be updated to identify a different legal entity if ownership or operation of the Service changes.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create or maintain an account on Verbara.

By registering for Verbara, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and reasonably complete.

You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their permission, and you may not use Verbara if your account has previously been suspended or terminated by us unless we have expressly allowed you to return.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and keeping your password and login credentials confidential.

You are also responsible for activity that occurs through your account. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, you should contact us as soon as possible.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep important account information reasonably up to date.

You should not create multiple accounts for the purpose of misleading other users, avoiding restrictions, abusing the Service, or otherwise violating these Terms.

3. Verbara is a platform

Verbara is a social network designed to connect language learners, teachers, and other people interested in language learning.

Verbara provides the platform and related features but does not employ independent teachers who use the Service unless expressly stated otherwise.

Teachers using Verbara are independent users of the platform and are responsible for their own teaching services, statements, qualifications, availability, pricing or other arrangements they may make with users.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Verbara is not a party to private arrangements, lessons, tutoring relationships, or other agreements between users.

4. Teacher verification

Verbara may provide a teacher verification feature. Verification means that Verbara has reviewed information submitted by the teacher for the purpose of evaluating their application.

Depending on the circumstances, this process may include reviewing information about teaching experience, qualifications, certificates, an introduction video, or conducting a live verification interview.

A verification badge does not guarantee that a teacher is suitable for a particular learner, that their teaching services will meet your expectations, or that every statement made by the teacher is accurate.

We may remove, suspend, or decline verification if we have reasonable grounds to believe that information provided by a teacher is inaccurate, misleading, outdated, or otherwise does not satisfy our requirements.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use Verbara responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and these Terms.

You must not use Verbara to:

6. Content you share

You retain ownership of the original content you create and post on Verbara, including profile information, posts, comments, messages, voice content, and other material you submit.

By submitting content to Verbara, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, maintain, and improve the Service.

This license allows Verbara to make your content available to other users when you choose to publish or share it through the relevant features of the Service.

This license does not transfer ownership of your content to Verbara. When you delete content, the license for that content generally ends once the content has been removed from our active systems, except where continued retention is reasonably necessary for legal, security, technical, or backup purposes.

You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the rights necessary to submit it and grant the license described above.

7. Public content and communications

Verbara includes social features that allow users to publish profiles, posts, comments, and other content.

When you choose to publish content publicly or make it available to other users, you understand that those users may be able to view, access, or share that content.

You should not publish information that you do not want other people to see.

Private communications, including direct messages, are intended for the users participating in those communications. However, no online communication system can be guaranteed to be completely private or secure.

8. Voice content

Voice is an important part of Verbara. You may create and share voice posts, voice comments, challenges, and other audio content through the Service.

You are responsible for what you say and share through voice features. You must not use voice features to harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, or otherwise harm another person.

You should not record, reproduce, or distribute another person's private voice communication without their permission or where doing so would violate applicable law.

Voice content submitted to Verbara is subject to the same content ownership and license provisions described in these Terms.

9. Speaking sessions and third-party services

Verbara may allow users to arrange or join live speaking sessions. These sessions may take place through third-party services such as Zoom or another video meeting provider.

Verbara may provide and store information needed to organize a session, such as the date, time, participants, session status, and meeting link.

Verbara does not record or store the audio or video of live sessions conducted through third-party meeting services.

Third-party meeting services are separate services and may have their own terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for reviewing and following the rules of any third-party service you use.

Verbara does not guarantee that a scheduled session will occur, that another participant will attend, or that a third-party meeting service will always be available or function without interruption.

10. User interactions and personal responsibility

You are responsible for your interactions and communications with other Verbara users.

Verbara does not guarantee the identity, intentions, qualifications, background, or behavior of any user unless expressly stated as part of a particular verification process.

Use appropriate caution when communicating with people you meet through Verbara. Do not share sensitive personal information with other users unless you are comfortable doing so.

If you arrange a lesson, meeting, or other activity with another user, you are responsible for deciding whether that arrangement is appropriate and safe.

11. Intellectual property

Verbara and its underlying software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics, interfaces, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Verbara and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Verbara's Service or proprietary materials without our permission.

The Verbara name, logo, and branding may not be used in a way that suggests an unauthorized relationship or endorsement by Verbara.

12. Reporting content or violations

If you believe that another user or piece of content violates these Terms, applicable law, or creates a safety concern, you may report it through the available reporting or support features.

We may review reports and take actions we consider appropriate, including removing content, limiting an account, suspending features, or terminating an account.

We do not guarantee that every report will result in a particular action.

13. Content removal and account restrictions

We may remove or restrict access to content, accounts, or features when we reasonably believe that doing so is necessary to:

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Verbara and request deletion of your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to some or all features if you violate these Terms, create a significant risk to other users or Verbara, engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or where we are otherwise required or permitted to do so by law.

Where reasonably appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to address a violation before taking action. However, we may take immediate action when necessary to protect users, the Service, or comply with legal requirements.

If your account is terminated, provisions of these Terms that by their nature should continue to apply will remain in effect, including provisions relating to intellectual property, content, disclaimers, liability, and dispute-related matters.

15. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your Verbara account at any time through the available account settings or by contacting us.

Account deletion may result in the removal of your profile and content associated with your account, subject to the limitations described in our Privacy Policy and these Terms.

Information that we are required to retain for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes may be retained for the period reasonably necessary for those purposes.

16. Third-party links and services

Verbara may contain links to websites, applications, or services operated by third parties.

Third-party services are not controlled by Verbara, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, security, or privacy practices.

Your use of third-party services is subject to the terms and policies of those providers.

17. No guarantee of learning results

Verbara is intended to provide tools and opportunities for language learning, communication, and practice. We do not guarantee any particular language-learning result, level of improvement, examination score, fluency, or other outcome from using the Service.

18. Service availability

We aim to keep Verbara available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error-free.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, updates, third-party services, network issues, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

19. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Verbara is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms.

We do not guarantee that information provided by users is accurate, complete, reliable, or current.

In particular, Verbara does not guarantee the identity, qualifications, teaching ability, behavior, availability, or reliability of any teacher or learner using the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, right, or protection that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

20. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Verbara and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of the Service.

This includes, where permitted by law, losses arising from interactions with other users, third-party services, interruptions to the Service, or content submitted by users.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights through content or activity associated with your account.

22. Changes to the Service

Verbara is continuously developing. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time.

We may also change or discontinue particular features when reasonably necessary for technical, operational, security, legal, or business reasons.

Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide notice where required by applicable law.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to Verbara, our practices, or applicable legal requirements.

When we make material changes, we may notify you through the Service, by email, or by another appropriate method.

The updated Terms will become effective on the date stated in the updated Terms. Where applicable law requires your express agreement to material changes, we will obtain it.

24. General terms

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not mean that we waive our right to enforce it later.

These Terms, together with any additional terms or policies specifically referenced in them, describe the agreement between you and Verbara concerning your use of the Service.

25. Governing law and disputes

The laws and courts applicable to these Terms will depend on where Verbara is legally operated and, where applicable, the mandatory consumer protection laws that apply to you.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive consumers of rights or protections that cannot legally be waived under the laws of their country or place of residence.
